Writing Under Sanctification

Creative Works Crafted and Refined

“O, Lord, let me make a difference for you utterly disproportionate to who I am.”  — John Piper

“The possibility of doing good to the souls of men is a grand incentive which needs no other to supplement it, and such a possibility beyond all question exists when warm-hearted thought is expressed in telling language, and scattered broadcast in type among the masses.” — Charles Spurgeon

Midnight at the Fountain of Joy

Allegorical Epic Fantasy

Description:
Midnight at the Fountain of Joy follows Meara, a young woman haunted by fear, grief, and a spiritual darkness visible only to her. Driven from her dying homeland, she enters a world built on philosophies that cannot withstand the weight of reality. As she travels through strange lands and fractured worldviews, Meara must face the lies that shaped her identity, the shadows of her past, and the deeper reality of Beathain’s sovereign love.

This story weaves epic fantasy with theological depth, exploring themes of providence, identity, calling, truth, beauty, worldview, and the war between biblical and humanistic visions of the world. It is an imaginative pilgrimage and spiritual epic set against the backdrop of decaying kingdoms and ancient forests where unseen battles shape the seen world.

Narrative Drive & Structure:
Meara’s journey moves from fear to faith, from self-protection to surrender, and from fractured identity to restored purpose. The narrative blends:

  • Character-driven transformation

  • Symbolic landscapes

  • Philosophical city-states

  • Allegorical antagonists

  • Spiritual warfare expressed through fantasy motifs

The story draws inspiration from Pilgrim’s Progress, Lewis’s cosmic imagination, and the rich theological symbolism of the Reformers, but remains wholly its own, rooted in a covenantal worldview and the sovereignty of God.

Why This Project Matters:
This novel unites theology, worldview, and story. It gives imaginative form to the antithesis between biblical truth and humanistic thought while offering readers a narrative shaped by beauty, hope, and redemption. It serves as the creative foundation for my broader writing and the development of my Covenant Literary Theory.

Covenant Literary Theory: Foundations and Framework

Nonfiction • Research & Development

Alongside my fiction, I am developing the foundations of Covenant Literary Theory, a framework for evaluating literature through a biblical worldview rooted in covenant theology. This ongoing project explores how themes of creation, fall, redemption, providence, and worldview shape narrative meaning. Drawing from Reformation thought, literary analysis, philosophy, and theology, this work seeks to offer readers and writers a lens that reveals the deep structure of truth within story, culture, and imagination. This research also supports my long-term academic goal of pursuing graduate study in theology and expanding this theory into a formal thesis.
